Umamaheshwaram also known as Maheshwaram and Umamaheshrum is a temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva in Telangana, India. It is in the picturesque Nallamala forest range around 100 kilometres away from Hyderabad on the Hyderabad-Srisailam highway.
Shrine’s History
Srisailam is one of the most Holy shrines of Lord Shiva located in Telangana. There are four gateways to Srisailam. Umamaheshwaram is the northern gateway of Srisailam. Going through the Vedic history it is said that to visit Srisailam without Umamaheshwaram is incomplete. Umamaheshwaram is located upon the hill covered by huge trees.
Architectural Relevance of This Shrine
Shivalinga in umamaheshwaram is a pleasant appeal for the devotees because of its colour ? it is white on one side and red on the other side. The Huge tank is been built near the temple where thousand elephants can swim at the same time. It is been decorated with the images of Chandi, Subrahmanya, Virabhadra, Kumaraswamy and other gods.

Uma Maheswaram is very nearer to Achampet, Nagarkurnool district. Once we reach Achampet first, then Rangpur and from there Umamaheswaram. A number of autos are also available from Achampet.
