The principal deity of this shrine is Lord Sri Venu Gopala Swamy. According to the local legends, Sri Venu Gopala Swamy is a form Lord Krishna with a flute on his hand and along with a cow. Adherent devotees pray to this Lord for a favourable verdict in their stride in court cases, for the wedding, for mental peace and child boons at this temple.

Sri Venu Gopala Swamy Temple conducts its annual temple festival in the month of April or May every year with active participation of local people and adherent devotees of the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
