Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple located in Perunkulam is a famous temple. The Presiding deity is Lord Maha Vishnu in the form of Srinivasa Perumal; while the Festival Deity is Mayakoothar.
Legends Associated with This Shrine
Legend has it that Namperumal flew on his Garuda Vahana to save Thayar from a demon. Thus Garudar is the Urchava Moorthy in this temple.At the end of the fight,Lord performed a victory dance on the dead body of eh demon and the name Sri Mayakoothan.Where Kamalavathi performed penance to wed the Lord and fulfilled her desire.The sixth in the series of these nine Tirupathi Temples is Sri Mayakoothan.
