Legends Associated with This Shrine
Divine serpent Adisesha serving as a bed to Lord Mahavishnu in the nectar sea appeared as Sage Patanjali to appreciate the move of Lord Shiva. Master Shiva allowed Adisesha His Dance Darshan in Chidambaram. Sage Patanjali resulted in these present circumstances put as exhorted by Lord Shiva and performed compensation. Master showed up before the sage and inquired as to whether he was fulfilled by His move darshan, Patanjali answered that he could never be content with the darshan a few times and that ought to be before him for eternity.
