Sri Janardhana Swamy Temple is located on banks of River Godavari at Dhavaleswaram in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.Lord Vishnu is presiding in the form of Sri Janardhana Swamy as Swayambhu.
Shrine’s History
It is believed that the idol of the main deity belongs to Kruthayuga. One can see an image of Lord Vishnu in the reclining posture on top of the entrance gateway. There is a Dhwajasthamb inside the temple premises. There are images of Lord Rama and Seetha Devi on top of the mukha mandapa. Visual beauty is to watch sculptural images on the temple walls. There is a separate shrine of Goddess Mahalakshmi Andal Ammavaru. Lord Anjaneya Swamy is the Kshetra Palaka of this temple is to right of the main garbhalaya. There is a separate shrine for Lord Agastyeswara Swamy with His consort Goddess Bala Tripura Sundari Devi.

Sri Vari Kalyanotsavam is celebrated from Maga Shuddha Ekadasi to Maaga Pournami. Procession of Utsava Vigrahas in Gramotsavam is a special attraction here.
