This temple is dedicated to Parad Shivling or mercury shivling or paradeshwar Mahadev temple. Located on MK Gandhi Road, the Parad Shivling in Haridwar is unique for its Shivalinga. During Kumbh Mela, the first pooja is made here only.
Architectural Relevance of This Shrine
One of the ancient and finest temples in Haridwar is Parad Shivling. The shrine is located in the premises of Harihar Ashram that lies between Khankhal and Haridwar. The Shivling here is Parad Shivling? or Mercury Shivling? as it is made of mercury. The weight of Shivlinga is 150 Kg. Thus, it got the name of Parad Shivlinga.
