Shiva Temple is one of the very famous tourist attractions of Baramulla and is located in Gulmarg. The temple is also well-known as Mohineshwar Shivalalaya or Maharani temple. It is believed to be one of the majestic temples of Dogra Kings of Jammu and Kashmir. It was built by Mohini Bai Sisodhi, wife of King of Kashmir, Maharaja Hari Singh in 1915.
Shrine’s History
Maharani Temple was built by a Hindu ruler Maharaja Hari Sisodia for his wife Maharani Mohini Bai Sisodia who ruled till 1915. Interestingly, in this temple was considered as the stately possession of Dogra Kings.
Architectural Relevance of This Shrine
The temple construction is a shikharor peak style with a pointed end at the top, which shows that even then, Jammus architecture had a south Indian influence.

The closest railway head to Gulmarg is Jammu. It is well connected by all major metro cities and most of the trains from here also cross smaller stations. This makes Jammu a well-connection railway station.

This temple adjoins a long path that has been constructed using beams to allow devotees to walk on it.
