Kovvuru is a small town and Mandal inWest Godavari District, in the state of Andhra Pradesh,India.It is situated on the west bank of Godavari river.Bus and trains facilities from all main towns in Andhra Pradesh.The name of Kovvuru was derived from Govu vooru. Since Cows are considered to be very holy in Indian Culture, this name is supposedly very holy. During the Godavari Pushkaralu, held every 12 years, Goshpada Kshetram and temple are sacred places. There are many temples of various Hindu Gods in the Gopadala revu. People from all over India come here for the holy dip in the river during the pushkaram.
