Sri Nindra Nambi Perumal Temple is located at Thirukkurungudi town of Tirunelveli district,Tamilnadu and also revered as one of the 108 Divya Desam temples,dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
Shrine’s History
This temple is also known as Vaamana Kshetram?. Lord Vishny was born in the month of Puratasi. The dhavadasi was born in Vijayadhavadasi. The suryan and Vyazha Guru Bragaspathi taught the Brahma soothram to Vijaya dhavadasi. Vaamanar was born to the Maharishi. He got the Dharbai from his father. All the Vedas were taught him by Bharadhwaja Maharishi. He gave him a food when he begged for food. Vaamanar gave his seva as a short muni in this sthalam. This sthalam is called as Kurungudi?. Once lord Shiva sword the head of Brahma so he caught by Brahmagathi dosham. He got the advice by NindraNambi to get out from this dhosam.
Then he begged the food from Kurungudi valli to get relief from this dhosam. Finally, he learnt Sudharsana Japam from Vamanar and him completely relief from dhosam. East direction of this temple, a small temple was constructed for “Thirumangai Alwar Thiru varasu” on the bank of a river.
