Shrine’s History
This temple is built during the 17th century to commemorate a Saintly woman called-Tirupathamma. ? Who used to live and who sacrificed her life at this place. The presiding twin deities of this temple are Laxmi Tirupathamma and Gopaiah. The temple is quite popular as millions of pilgrims visit this place to offer their prayers. There are as many as 101 temples in Penuganchiprolu that are visited by devotes. Tirupathamma, an ordinary woman, who was deified due to a demonstration of the power of chastity and efficacy of moderation and patient suffering.
