Architectural Relevance of This Shrine

One of the ancient and finest temples in Haridwar is Parad Shivling. The shrine is located in the premises of Harihar Ashram that lies between Khankhal and Haridwar. The Shivling here is Parad Shivling? or Mercury Shivling? as it is made of mercury. The weight of Shivlinga is 150 Kg. Thus, it got the name of Parad Shivlinga.

Devotees mainly visit the Parad Shivling to get blessed by Lord Shiva. Though the shiva lingam is a major attraction here, visitors also view the Rudraksha tree which has stood here for many years. Hindus believe that rudraksha can heal a wide range of ailments. Devotees who come here don’t miss to collect the rudraksha from this tree. They wear the rudraksha to get rid of multiple problems in their lives.
